We hold group runs several days a week, all year long. When you run with us, you will mostly never run alone!

 

JOIN US EVERY SATURDAY MORNING 7:00 a.m.

Lake Zurich High School, Lake Zurich, IL

 

The most popular group run is on Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. at the Lake Zurich High School in Lake Zurich, IL. It starts with a loop around the lake along paved roads and village sidewalks, then through business districts and residential neighborhoods. Options for distances from 4 miles up to 20 miles, with water and Gatorade stops available at approximately every 3 miles up to mile 9.

We also hold weeknight group runs throughout the year. During the winter months, attendance can be sporadic; if you are planning to attend, please post on our Group Facebook page to find a partner or to see if there will be a group running that evening.

Recycle your Old Shoes

Bring your old running shoes to our Saturday runs! We'll collect them each week to have them recycled.

Weekly Runs

Tuesday Evening Runs (5.25 miles)

 

When: 6:00 p.m. all year round (Some meet at 5:30 p.m. for an extra 3 miles around the lake)
Where: Paulus Park 200 S. Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, just about ¼ mile north of Rt. 22 on Rand Rd. (U.S. Rt. 12). The course enters into North Barrington in the Biltmore subdivision. This is a hillier route and a great workout! We often meet at Tacos el Norte afterwards for Taco Tuesday or at another sponsor location!
Distance: 5.25 mile loop for all speed levels.

Note: 5K Program Participants will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays during training program dates.

Wednesday Evening Runs (6 miles)

 

 

SPRING & SUMMER:
When: First Wednesday in May until early September, 6:00 p.m.
Where: Cuba Marsh—meet in the parking lot off the Cuba Rd. entrance just west of Ela Rd.
Distance: 3,4, or 6 miles at all levels! FALL & WINTER:
When: Early September through end of April, 6:00 p.m.
Where: Paulus Park Distance: 6 miles through Old Mill Grove and back.
Route: Alpine Runners Wednesday Route

Thursday RAW (Run Around Wauconda) Evening Runs (4 miles)

 

When: TBD (Runs will start up this summer)
Where: at building formerly Bulldogs in Wauconda for 4 miles.
Distance: 4 miles around Bangs Lake
Note: We may change the route when the streets are snow-covered. Please watch announcements for any location changes.

Saturday Morning Runs (4 –12 miles supported by water and Gatorade at miles 3, 5, 7, and 9)

 

When: All year long! Saturdays at 7:00 a.m.
Where: Lake Zurich High School lower parking lot.
Distances: 4 miles (around the lake) to 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, up to 22 miles
Paces: We have a number of different groups running from 7:30 to 12:00-minute miles and even a walk/run pace. There's a distance and speed for almost everyone.

Water and Gatorade are generally available at miles 3, 5, 7, and 9. Additional aid stations are often set up at 11, 14, 17 and 19 during the Chicago Marathon training season.
